Eligibility Citeria for Commonwealth Masters Scholarships
To apply for the commonwealth masters scholarships programme candidates must:
- be a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country
- be a British Protected Person (BPP)
- provide all supporting documentation in the required format.
- Be a permanent resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
- Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2023
- have a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours, a second class degree (2:2).
Steps to Apply for the Commonwealth Masters Scholarship
The closing date for applications (including all supporting documentation) is 18 October 2022 at 16:00 GMT.
Applicants can apply through any of the nominating bodies, National Nominating Agencies or Non-Governmental Organizations, and Charitable Bodies.
Note: The nominating agencies have their own selection processes, and they may even have additional eligibility criteria in accordance with their procedures. Applicants should consult the nominating agency for specific rules regarding their application, as well as their own eligibility criteria. The nominating agencies may set their own deadlines for applications.
Candidates are required to collect references, on institution letterhead or an email clearly showing the sender’s details, from referees and then upload them to the application system in PDF format with their other supporting documentation.
The following documents are essential when applying:
Citizenship Proof; Vaild passport showing a photograph, date of birth and country of citizenship.
Educational Transcripts: Full transcripts detailing all higher education qualifications, including to-date transcripts for any courses currently being studied.
Reference Letter: References from at least two individuals, on institutional letterhead or an email clearly showing the sender’s details. Candidates can also upload any university admissions letters held for their chosen courses.
Note: If any of the required documentation is not provided by the closing date, the application will be considered ineligible.
Applications will be considered according to the following selection criteria:
- Academic merit of the candidate
- Quality of the plan of study
- Potential impact on the development of the candidate’s home country
